Independence, commissions, and how we rank
Nail Product Lab is independently owned by working nail technicians. No brand pays for a ranking, a higher position, or a featured placement. We buy and use the products we rank, then score them against the same criteria: published specs, handling on a real table, United States availability, and value in USD. Some outbound links may earn us a commission if you buy through them. That does not change a ranking. Prices are what we observed for U.S. customers and can change without notice.
Who owns this site
Nail Product Lab is independently owned by working nail technicians. We are not a salon chain, not a U.S. lab, and not a store. Publisher and hosting details are on the Legal page.
How rankings are made
We buy and use the products, then compare published specs, handling, U.S. availability, and value in USD. Positions are editorial. We do not run a laboratory protocol and we do not publish fake testimonials.
No brand pays for a rank
No placement is sold. No payment is accepted to add a product or to change its order. Every product, whatever the brand, is scored on the same five criteria. When a product is number one, the card states the concrete reasons (U.S. price, size, published HEMA-free and TPO-free status, handling).
Affiliate and outbound links
Buttons such as “View at [brand]” send you to the brand or a U.S. dealer. Some of those links may earn us a commission if you purchase. Under the FTC Endorsement Guides, that is a material connection (16 CFR 255.5, including Example 11 on affiliate blogs). We disclose it here, in the footer, and on every comparison page, next to the ranking, not only behind a legal link.
Amazon.com search and product links are marked rel="sponsored" when they are
used. Other brand links use rel="nofollow". We do not claim commissions have
“no influence” on rankings. Rankings are not sold; commissions, if any, come after you
choose to click.
What we will not do
- Limits are listed on every card, including number one;
- Claims we could not check ourselves are labeled as brand claims;
- Prices are U.S. prices observed on the date shown, and can change;
- We do not call cosmetics “FDA approved” unless that exact status exists.
